6 PHOTOGRAPHSThe build
WHY IT EXISTSThis started as a stock 6S truck that couldn't stop. Everything since has been about making the power usable rather than adding more of it.
The first summer of running it made one thing obvious: on a 6S pack the throttle was never the problem. Braking was. The stock setup would carry speed into everything, so the ESC came out first — a Hobbywing MAX8 G2S, retuned with the drag brake at 40% and brake force raised until the truck settles under its own weight instead of skating.
The rebuild is the part I'm most pleased with. Every run is routed away from the shock towers, the receiver box is properly sealed, and the servo — a Savox SB-2290SG, which is not waterproof whatever the forums say — sits under its own cover rather than relying on the chassis to keep water out.
It's been run hard for two seasons and maintained after every session. Selling only because a second 6S truck arrived and this one deserves to be driven rather than shelved.
